Recent move[edit]

Reason for move from Association of Haitian Industries → Association of Industries of Haiti (since cut off from edit history) was, "This is its literal translation. Supported by English sources, even though some refer to the former, typically informally though. "Association des haïtiens Industries" it is not. Debating on whether the title is more used in French then in English as well hmm... Savvyjack23 (talk) 01:42, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

hm. ^^ I really think this is a mistake, because in the literature in English this is how it is named (including in sources used in the article). ceci dit, je suis d'accord que la langue française peut être penible à traduire avec ses "de"-tiroirs... (cf. translation of this La Fontaine fable...) :)

Thank you very much for having a look at the page, Savvyjack23; I'm going to go back and look through your other suggestions.SashiRolls (talk) 05:40, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Good call. In addition, this provided a redirect for the old name! Thanks. SashiRolls (talk) 06:38, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

SashiRolls, sorry for the belated response. Yes, the redirect is perfect in this situation. I've been dealing a lot recently with French translation etc. pertaining to Haiti and various articles; in this case especially, there were English transliterations of both but in an equal weight. So it was more or less a toss-up in this situation; tie-breaker given to its literal translation and website. However, I have seen companies and organizations alter their English in a similar manner, where the translation wasn't so literal. I feel like there wasn't enough here to suggest that though.
