The Gale page that I am supposedly "violating" was copied from an original finding aid written by archivists at Duke University. The page I created for Wikipedia is not in violation of any copyright Gale may purport to have. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Atomlattice (talkcontribs) 16:36, 25 March 2015‎ (UTC)[reply]

Atomlattice, I agree that that page was probably written by Duke archivists; but that doesn't mean it can just be copied into Wikipedia. When writing here, aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the wording of the source too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; please see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Editors who who persistently violate our copyright policies may be blocked from editing.
I've also rewritten some of the other text, as it was much too close to that of the source. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 12:35, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem removed[edit]

Prior content in this article duplicated one or more previously published sources. The material was copied from: http://microformguides.gale.com/Data/Introductions/33130FM.htm. Copied or closely paraphrased material has been rewritten or removed and must not be restored, unless it is duly released under a compatible license. (For more information, please see "using copyrighted works from others" if you are not the copyright holder of this material, or "donating copyrighted materials" if you are.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or published material; such additions will be deleted. Contributors may use copyrighted publications as a source of information, and according to fair use may copy sentences and phrases, provided they are included in quotation marks and referenced properly. The material may also be rewritten, but only if it does not infringe on the copyright of the original or plagiarize from that source. Therefore such paraphrased portions must provide their source. Please see our guideline on non-free text for how to properly implement limited quotations of copyrighted text. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with these policies. Thank you. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 12:35, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

New Sections[edit]

I am proposing more historical information and an image be added to this page. Rsg1magic (talk) 21:15, 23 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
