Proposed edits to non-neutral language[edit]

I am proposing to edit Atlas Venture's article to remove non-neutral language.

Specifically:

1) The current article states correctly Atlas' various fund sizes. However, it includes phrases such as "Following the collapse of the dot-com bubble, the firm found it difficult to raise similar pools of capital". This statement is subjective and not found or referred to in the reference linked to the sentence. I propose to remove the phrase.

2) The reference link, "Atlas Venture up sticks to Boston", does not correlate Atlas Venture's fundraising to Atlas Venture's relocation. However, the sentence in the Atlas Venture article creates this correlation in a biased way by stating, "As a result of the firm's smaller fund sizes, Atlas has significantly consolidated its investment operations". The rationale for the consolidation is better provided by the reference, "Atlas Brings Its European Ops Back to Boston". However, a non promotional and more neutral way to rewrite the sentence would be "In 2009, Atlas consolidated its investment operations."

3) The sentence, "At its peak, the firm had offices on the West Coast as well as in Europe", would be more neutrally stated "At its largest..."

In full disclosure for this posting and the proposed edits, I am an employee of Atlas Venture. My aim is not to use Atlas Venture's article to be promotional, but rather to keep the article neutral and fact based. Zanetakis (talk) 21:41, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed addition of Atlas Venture IX to Atlas Venture Article[edit]

I am proposing to add Atlas Venture's ninth fund to the Atlas Venture Article.

Proposed edits to Atlas Venture description[edit]

Atlas Venture is a seed led early stage venture capital with a single office in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I propose removing "international" from the first sentence and main descriptor of the Atlas Venture article as it is misleading.

Similarly, the phrase, "From the late 1990s to the mid-2000s the firm was a leading investor in start ups..." is non neutral. I propose to more simply state, "Atlas Venture invests in start up companies..."
