I'll have this to you soon JAGUAR  19:08, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that the version when I nominated looked like this. I do not like all changes afterwards but will discuss, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:00, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Should be fine, I always exclude discussions regarding infoboxes from reviews for fair play. JAGUAR  13:22, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's not the infobox, lack of which is common to both, and the reason to pick this one for improvements, on top of having strong memories of having written the underlying hymn article when I was in distress. No, what I miss most is the table of recordings. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:35, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Initial comments[edit]

  • "by Johann Sebastian Bach. Bach composed the" - double Bach! Replace "Bach" with he
sure --GA
  • "Bach composed the chorale cantata in Leipzig in 1724 in his' second annual cycle" - place a comma between "in" and "his"
I moved the cycle thing to the next para (which we didn't have back then, --GA
  • I would merge the two short sentences in the History and text section to one larger paragraph, in order to improve the flow of the prose
I seewhat you mean, but it's not connected,--GA
  • "Luther wrote about the psalm that it was coming from a... truly penitent heart that is most deeply moved in its distress" - is this formatted correctly? Luther's statement cuts short here
The quote begins with "penitent",comes from a source, and I don't know what came before, --GA
  • "John Eliot Gardiner, who conducted the Bach Cantata Pilgrimage in 2000" - this is already linked
don't see it, --GA
  • "cantata Du Friedefürst, Herr Jesu Christ, BWV 116,composed three weeks earlier" - space after comma
yes --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:51, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

Good points, as usual,--Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:50, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I guess you meant "on hold" to be in here? - If I was a GA reviewer, I would say that the current list of selected recordings is unsourced, lacks detail, and a sort by choral group seems arbitrary. I would like to see the table (sortable by many features) back, as it appears on all FAs and GAs on the topic so far. For consistency, we otherwise write numbers for the Sundays after Trinity 13 and up, compare Ich will den Kreuzstab gerne tragen, BWV 56 --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:18, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Disagree, but this is better discussed on the talk proper rather than here. Nikkimaria (talk) 17:43, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

On hold[edit]

This article is overall well-written and comprehensive. I could only find a few minor prose/syntax issues, but other than that it should be good to go. Good work on all the Bach articles so far! JAGUAR  13:37, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for addressing all of my initial issues. I think that the matters regarding the table can be discussed on the talk page, but regardless, this article now meets the GA criteria! Well done JAGUAR  22:04, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
