Foundation[edit]

I understand that in August MLS Next Pro announced that Austin FC would be adding a team for the 2023 MLS Next Pro season, but I would not consider that the founding date. With the Announcement on 13 December 2022, including only Team name and emblem it appears this was their founding. At the time of initial announcement they hadn't announced any staff or players.Demt1298 (talk) 20:42, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Recent changes[edit]

@SounderBruce Wow, you are one hard editor to get a straight answer from, but I I am still wondering about the changes you are making to the Austin FC II article. You seem to keep wanted to place the article in past tense, rather than having it written in a currant tense. The phrasing you are using suggests it is a team that existed rather than exists and performed a function for the club rather than performs a function for the club. Is there a reason you believe past tense is correct for a current team? I understand what you are addressing is under history, but rather then make it past tense and seem inaccurate, do you think it should be moved to a different section? The sources used can only support past events, such as the formation of the inaugural season's roster and the original intent of the team. There is no expectation that it will remain the same, so using present or future tense is inappropriate and borders on WP:CRYSTAL. The revert also introduced several grammatical errors that should have been caught. SounderBruce 21:29, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the feedback and opinion. I adjusted references and wording to avoid tense issues that make it sound as if the team is defunct. Feel free to provide additional feedback. Demt1298 (talk) 22:37, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
