This sentence contains an unexplained logical jump. The choice is not purely between solid-state electronics (semiconductor or vacuum tube based) and mechanical computers, but electro-mechanical computers also exists (most famously Zuse's relay-based devices). The article jumps over that option without mention, even though electro-mechanical relays (e.g. silver-graphite contactor pairs) could be operational in high-temperature environments where semiconductors and vacuum tubes melt. 188.143.6.200 (talk) 11:49, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
