Did this exist?[edit]

I've been trying to pinpoint where this station was so that we can add coords to it, but I haven't been able to find a single source that confirms it actually existed. Of the three sources cited in the article, only one – a PDF list of current & former railway stations in NZ by the NZ Rail Heritage Trust – even mentions it, with the other two sources cited referring instead to the nearby Avondale Railway Station. There's also no Avondale Road in the area described in the article (which could easily be a case of changes due to development, but this would place "Avondale Road" two suburbs over from Avondale itself, where there is also an Avondale Road.

I wanted to raise this just in case I was missing something, but if not it may be worth filing an RfD? Turnagra (talk) 06:13, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Paging User:Ser Amantio di Nicolao as the creator in case you have any input, and I'll also chuck a notice in WPNZ and WP:Trains Turnagra (talk) 06:13, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Avondale Road was renamed Asquith Avenue in 1912.[1] NZR in 1907 published an announcement "... the Trains known as the Motor Trains, running between Auckland and Henderson, will Stop at the undermentioned Street Crossings to pick up or set down Passsengers..." [2] Whether this means an actual station existed or if they just stopped near a convenient level crossing as if they were trams, is something you'll need to ask a railway expert about. That's useful, thank you! At the very least it gives something to go off in terms of where this "station", whatever it was, actually was. Turnagra (talk) 23:53, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
