Tokushima Awa Odori VS Awa Odori in general[edit]

This article seems to mix up whether it’s specifically about Tokushima Awa Odori, or about Awa Odori festivals in general. E.g. many of the photos are of other Awa Odori’s.

Wikipedia could really do with a page on Awa Odori in general, with subsections (or perhaps other articles) about specific Awa Odori festivals. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Komaba (talkcontribs) 10:37, 30 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In response to the above comment, Awa Odori IS the bon odori festival of Tokushima. As the article states, Awa is the old feudal administrative name for Tokushima. Some spin-off versions of the Awa Odori festival do occur elsewhere - these are also mentioned in the article. I think the commentator has mistaken Awa Odori for Bon Odori, which is the general, non-local term for the dance that takes place across Japan during the o-bon festival. Awa Odori is basically a big bon-odori with some local characteristics. Signed: Ginevra House — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.92.244.18 (talk) 15:55, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You are confusing Awa odori as type of dance and multiple Awa odori festivals held in numerous parts of Japan during Obon festival. There is no special meaning of "Awa odori festival" in Japan as only single festival in Tokushima. Also this article does not match Japanese version. --Rambalac (talk) 19:05, 28 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
