Notability[edit]

Is there anything notable about this housing estate that warrants it having its own article? S a g a C i t y (talk) 16:39, 17 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I see the Aycliff article no longer exists. It has not been merged into the Dover article, because Aycliff is not mentioned there. Yet Aycliff is of interest because it is a settlement, part of which no longer exists, therefore it is part of history not to be forgotten. It was a council housing estate, which was partly demolished to make way for a new road. I have found a few pictures of the Aycliff area, which I have categorised on Commons as: Category:Aycliff, Dover. I have not removed the above reqphoto template, because there is probably no place for a photo of Aycliff on the Dover article page. It is still worth resurrecting and rewriting the deleted Aycliff article in respect of its historical value as a partially lost settlement, though. 1950s settlements can be of interest, today.
