Locations of these companies[edit]

I believe that the main location of Burroughs, Univac, Control Data Corporation, and Honeywell were all in the Twin Cities. (Minneapolis, St. Paul MN.) Also IBM had a large group in Rochester, MN. Also Hazeltine, and Lear Seagler who made video display terminals were also located there.--71.38.172.68 (talk) 20:06, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Big Blue and the Seven Dwarfs[edit]

I remember seeing in a computer history book a chapter titled Snow White- ...'scuse me there ;) Big Blue and the Seven Dwarfs They included the BUNCH and DEC for sure, the last one I'm not 100% sure, but it was probably HP. NCR[edit]

I reverted an edit which added category NCR to the article, because this indicates a larger problem. NCR seems to be incorrectly classified, and should be listed underComputer comparnies of the United States (or somewhere) which is already in this article. I would suggest correctly categorizing NCR rather than adding it here, which would suggest that the rest of the BUNCH should also be added. Peter Flass (talk) 13:49, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like NCR is already categorized iunder Computer Companies of the United States, so the NCR category is redundant. It appears NCR no longer sells computers, but they're not defunct, so categorizing them is problematic. Peter Flass (talk) 15:51, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I understand your point that NCR is included in "Computer Companies of the United States", however, this article relates to five specific companies. My thought is it should be included in the categories for each of them, if applicable. When someone looks on the "Category:NCR Corporation" page they would have no indication NCR was a part of BUNCH, unless they dig into "Computer Companies of the United States". While I agree redundancies should typically be avoided, I believe there are times when sensible exceptions can be made.Jb45424 (talk) 18:32, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
