Lee's flying solo

Astonishingly, I just noticed Lee isn't actually doing any soloing while flying though the air. I could've sworn there was a tenor solo in this piece, but there isn't - unless you count this 1 long crescendo note in the bridge as a minimal 'solo' ;) --195.169.225.32 (talk) 12:41, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Inspiration for the song: Quinton Kynaston School

Suggs has acknowledged in his autobiography "That Close" that the song was inspired by his time at the Quintin Kynaston School in St John's Wood, North London (now being rebuilt as the Quintin Kynaston Community Academy). References need to be chased for this but there is an extract of the book on the net which says this, as well as an article in the Hampstead & Highgate express series of newspapers in 2013 in support of a lecture tour by Suggs (but seemingly not on their website)

Position in the charts of 1980

This article says that "Baggy Trousers" was the twenty-eighth best selling single of 1980 in the United Kingdom. I thought it was the eleventh best selling single in the charts of that yearVorbee (talk) 15:54, 17 July 2019 (UTC)

It was the 13th best seller of 1980. The 11th was the cut off point in early Dec for Radio 1's Chart of the Year. 13th for full 52 weeks

Tune being used for I Recycle advert

The music is also being used for an I Recycle advert on the radio in the UK right now. How we a I can't find any source online to reference this fact. It has changed lyrics too. Infobleep (talk) 09:06, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
