Abdulgani's proper title in 1955[edit]

Actually, Roeslan Abdulgani was not then Foreign Minister of Indonesia, but Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Foreign Minister was then Soenario. RahadyanS 18:42, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ghana (Gold Coast) not Cyprus[edit]

The article currently misrepresent item "G" as being the whole of the final declaration items "A" to "G". Details from the Bandung Conference can be found at the University of Luxembourg, https://www.cvce.eu/en/search?q=Bandung The following should not be said to the public without first explaining the political mechanics that Sukarno was working with, but to get it off my chest in summary personally I read the final communiqué as saying something like: A) Money and Atomic energy are good and the UN and World Bank should provide additional funds for our group; B) Our countries were the cradles of culture and religion until Europeans came a few centuries ago, the spread of our culture should not be impeded just because others are of different race; C) Human rights are good and we oppose racial discrimination; D) Colonialism should be quickly ended; our friends Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia should be UN voting members; E) Palestine and Yemen should be supported, and Indonesia has just cause to colonise and loot West Irian for its enlightenment; F) Fear the bomb and admit more non nuclear members; and G) Ten points of lights for newspapers to publish. Unfortunately it takes thirty to sixty pages to explain the background; Sukarno may be totally immoral and Bandung itself may have been a total failure for what he was hoping but he soon proved that he was in deed running rings around the US and Soviet chimps. Only thing that ever stopped him was running afoul of Suharto and his new friends, a sociopaths tripping over another sociopath, funny except for the millions of victims and the Orwellian manipulation of school texts and media outlets.Daeron (talk) 02:45, 11 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Daeron: Also where does it say “overseas Chinese owed primary loyalty to their home nation, rather than to China” in the communiqué? I can only find “Zhou Enlai announced at the Bandung Conference in 1955 that the Chinese government would offer a nationality agreement similar to that of Indonesia to any country with which China had diplomatic relations”[1] – Kaihsu (talk) 10:48, 18 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Necessary Edit for Clarity[edit]

The second paragraph needs to be edited for clarity: The conference's stated aims were to promote Afro-Asian economic and cultural cooperation and to oppose colonialism or neocolonialism by any nation. The conference was a step towards the eventual creation of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) yet the two initiatives ran in parallel during the 1960s, even coming in confrontation with one another prior to the 2nd Cairo NAM Conference in 1964.[3] Tracymacl (talk) 05:22, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
