Unsigned comment[edit]

Pulau is Indonesian word for 'island'. Pulau Bangka Island will means Bangka Island Island. This is the same mistake as using the term ATM machine (the M is abbreviation for Machine). The other common mistake is the term 'Bahasa Indonesia language' as appose to 'Indonesian Language'.

Chinese spelling of town names[edit]

To avoid confusion by the readers, I removed chinese spelling of town names in the island. Please go to the town's (city)'s article to add the spelling with the requirement that the alternative spelling is officially used in the town. — Indon (reply) — 10:45, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

Bangka Belitung Province consist of Bangka Island and Belitung Island, but due to it is a small province, separate from South Sumatra Province, so I suggest to merge Bangka Island to Bangka-Belitung Islands.Gsarwa (talk) 11:12, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
