Betelgeuse explosion death toll?[edit]

This page put the total at 49, while Betelgeuse incident and Whiddy Island have it as 50. Can anyone clear this up? Nick Cooper 18:53, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Th death toll directly resulting from the explosion was 50 - 42 French, 7 Irish amd one English. A Dutch diver also lost his life during the salvage operation. R.doak (talk) 07:04, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Richard White, 1st Earl of Bantry[edit]

The Bantry article stated "Richard White, a local landowner, was created Earl of Bantry and Viscount Berehaven in 1816." In fact, Richard White was created Baron Bantry in 1797. In 1800 he was promoted Viscount Bantry and then Earl of Bantry in 1816. He was never Viscount Berehaven - that was the courtesy title of the heir to the Earldom —Preceding unsigned comment added by R.doak (talkcontribs) 07:15, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
