Question

Does anyone know the name of Barret's new Gun in Advent Children?

Is Barret the only black character?

I've heard rumors that Barret is the only black character (playable or npc) in the entire game. Does anyone know if these are true?

I don't think that this is true. Well, he is the only black character that actually matters, but I know I've seen other black people walking around in the Golden Saucer and Costa de Sol and Midgar and everywhere. The only place I have not seen any is probably Wutai. How come nobody is talking about Barret anyways? He is a pretty cool character. I also noticed that in his article there is nothing about him being the leader of Avalanche or anything. What's that all bout?-Leandreamo

It's mentioned in the intro paragraph, and in the Biography section =) >Gamemaker 17:33, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

Grudge

Why doesnt Barret carry any anger toward Scarlet? I he sees her at least 2 times in the game, youd think that hed be pissed at someone who took away his friend. -- Psi edit 02:07, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

friend... town, family, and his ARM! It is weird that he doesnt have at least ONE nasty thing to say to Scarlet. interesting. Spencer 02:11, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

Age

I'm confused... In this article it states that Barret is 35 during FF7... But on the FF Wikicities page, it states him as being 21 during FF7. Does anybody know which one is true? I need the information for a project of mine.

It's 35. I have the manual.Abby724 05:19, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

SHIN

SHIN is 'TREMOR' in Japanese. It's named for a Japanese fighter plane (just as Bahamut's Neo and Zero were). SIN appears to have been a misromanisation based on the misassumption that it referred to the English concept. It's even called SHIN in the Advent Children article, so may I ask why it is being reverted? --86.144.60.11 21:45, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

Uh, example?

"The character in the American translation of the game is sometimes criticized as being a stereotype of African Americans, due to his speech mannerisms which (unlike in the original Japanese version) are quite different from those of the rest of the characters in the game."

Who has actually said this in print?

From the small portion of the Japanese version of the game that I have seen, I see that he swears quite a bit and uses informal speech, so I suppose his speech in Japanese is equivalent to the English version, although I am not an expert on Japanese speech. Chibi Gohan 18:10, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
