Directionality[edit]

They are not individual directional antennas, like parabolic dishes... It's an array!!... And you can take the signal from wherever you like. Please, correct me if I'm wrong... I've been wondering about this subject for quite a while. I don t know for sure how much the antenna aray technology is already being used in cell phones. -- NIC1138 01:46, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No my friend. The article is true. Each sector serves it's own area(120° from each side). If what you said was true, then hand over of cell phones would mean nothing. Each sector works seprately from the others with a different BCCH channel.

Splitting[edit]

The article currently says the following. "Lower power MHz" doesn't even mean anything! Could someone more knowledgable than me please clarify this paragraph? 194.237.142.6 (talk) 15:24, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Each cell site covers a smaller area, with lower power MHz and thus offers the ability to reuse frequencies more times in a larger geographic coverage area, such as a city or MTA."
