The hand of Zyxoas[edit]

and successfully resisted a Zulu invasion in 1831.

Removed this per comments by User:Zyxoas on my talk page: "There was no "Zulu invasion in 1831". Maybe they mean the amaNgwana siege? Perhaps the attempted amaNdebele invasion?"

Also rm per Zyx, spellings Moluti for Maloti and Basuti, Basuto and Sotho. If these are necessary for historical refs, will reinstate these with appropriate comment. JackyR 14:44, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And rm Qhuaique per same: '"Qhuaique" can't possibly be a real Khoisan word'. Actually, I can't find evidence of it being a word in other languages either, but will stand corrected if anyone has a ref. JackyR 14:59, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pre-European history[edit]

This is on List of former sovereign states; did it have an independent pre-European identity? -- Beland (talk) 06:56, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What time period should this article cover?[edit]

The infobox includes the 1822–1884 period, the lede only talks about the Crown Colony period, and the History section seems to talk about the Basuto and their king but not their territory per se. If this article is supposed to start at 1822, the History section needs to be longer and the lede needs to be rewritten. Wikiacc () 21:23, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Make this article only about the Colony of Basutoland.

What is this article referring to[edit]

This is talking about the territory of Basutoland even though this article is obviously intended to talk about the Colony of Basutoland. Could someone please tell me what this article is referring to. Kanto7 (talk) 10:18, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I too am confused by this; see my comment directly above. I propose making the article about the colony only. What do you think? Wikiacc () 23:16, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
