Recently, the article has been refocused on Indonesian batik, which I think is more appropriate considering the etymological origin of the word, UNESCO's recognition on Indonesian batik, and the fact that most of the resources discussing batik regards Indonesian or Javanese Batik.
Obsolete dutch spelling in Javanese terms has been changed to contemporary Indonesian spelling.
High quality pictures has been added to illustrate the batik's intricate patterns.
