Timeline Discrepancy[edit]

Hrm. I don't know enough about Star Wars history to fix this, but, according to the articles, both this and the Battle of Kashyyyk took place after each other. The scenes from the movie about Coruscant showed up before the scenes from Kashyyyk, but I suppose the Battle of Kashyyyk could have started before. Like I said, I don't know much about Star Wars history. Aruthra 22:36, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

THe battl eof Kashyyk tok after the battle of Coruscant (Clone Wars) -SWF

actually, the invasion of kashyyk began before the battle of coruscant, but the final battle (the one in the movie) began afterwards

Total number of ships at the battle?[edit]

Does anyone know how many ships total (fighters included) were at the battle of Coruscant? If the number of fighters isn't known, does someone at least know the number of CapShips at the battle? 167.206.204.100 15:03, 25 April 2007 (UTC)G.A.Thrawn[reply]

plot problems[edit]

(I originally commented at the films' talk page)

This article is composed 95% of plot (this is the most important point).

It includes florid prose like "performed incredible feats" and "a fear-inspiring message".

Too much detail. It looks like an attempt to fit all the plot details from the novels into the articles, despite them having no repercusions or being mentioned outside the novels, to the point where several sentence can be removed without substracting any encyclopedic value to the article, like "Staying behind to deal with any hostiles, Shaak Ti sent the remaining two Jedi, Roron Corobb and Foul Moudama down with the Chancellor in case she failed. It was all in vain." Same with "though Windu and Kit Fisto were soon in hot pursuit, along with other Jedi pilots including Saesee Tiin, Agen Kolar and Pablo-Jill.". Same with "Two Jedi managed to breach the Hand's defences, but were killed by Grievous upon leaving their fighters. Their bodies were ejected into space." Similar with "Using the Force, Count Dooku incapacitated Kenobi," what's the relevance of him using the force and not simply kicking him on the groin? Similar with "who powered up their interceptors immediately, ready to join the battle", what's the relevance of piloting interceptors? the relevance of being ready to join the battle would still be good, if it wasn't because the reaction to the message is already described right there on the next section.

Important plot events aren't having their importance remarked, or simply remain unexplained:

  • "While Palpatine gave Grievous a piece of his mind" you mean that Grievous started being controlled by Palpatine at that moment? Why isn't this remarked? Does this mean that this attempt of capture was the event that gave Palpatine control of the rebel army, which happened to be essential for later events? If it's not that, then what does it mean and why is it mentioned?
  • "Thinking a brief display of power would make the Jedi back off, Grievous miscalculated and got his internal organs telekinetically crushed by Windu." so this is what caused Grievous to be in bad shape and not be able to combat the jedis at the ship bridge later? why is it not remarked later that he could not combat due to injuries during the capture of the chancellor?

Continuing from point above, the plot is simply explained, with no regard to explaining the relevance of each action in relation to the greater frame.

Finally, lack of encyclopedic details (except for maybe the kitchen sink detail, but that should go into the production details of the film itself, since it's not relevant to the battle and it's relevant to how much leeway and money the animators were given to play around, I mean, really, a whole new scene just to show a kitchen sink?) --Enric Naval (talk) 23:43, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Inconsistencies and patched narration[edit]

The article has inconsistent details and narration, as if put together by patching parts from differents sources of information (most probably several different Star Wars novels).

  • relation to battle of utapau
    • At the start of the article: "It took place immediately before the Battle of Kashyyyk and the Battle of Utapau"
    • At the end of the article: "This quickly led to the Battle of Utapau."
  • how the jedis became aware of the battle, and what they flew
    • Right before the rescue mission section "Meanwhile, in the Outer Rim, word reached Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker of the attack on Coruscant, who powered up their interceptors immediately, ready to join the battle"
    • Right after it "Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi were called back from the Outer Rim to assist in the rescue of Palpatine, leading their own legion of fighters into the battle. The Jedi flew advanced Jedi starfighters"
