Mistakes in this article[edit]

  1. There was no surprise for the bavarian corps. They knew about the armee d´loire, and took their position several hours befor the battle began.
  2. Disorder in the retread. Von der Tann managed a retread so fast, that the french where unable to follow him. He left 2.500 men in Orléans when he went for the battle. Only 800 to 1.000 men (wounded or just ill) where still in Oléans when d`Aurelles arrived there.
  3. The french hold position around Orléans for several days, the Battle of Beaune-la-Rolande was 19 days later. So they had time to rest and for exercises. Von der Tann met Friedrich Franz II, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin just three days after Coulmiers in Angerville.
