Umfraville and 4000 Scots?[edit]

Unlikely in the extreme, this must have originally come from a dubious source. Umfraville, the supposed leader of the Scots, was a Border knight from the English side, and in no way could have mustered 4000 men, probably not even 40 men. And Scots?, well it was the early days of the reivers, but Robin Mend the Market was hated on the Scottish side.
