Shirts and such.[edit]

I've expanded this piece to give far more detail of the battle and the general political context. It should not really be known as the Battle of the Shirts, but this misunderstanding is long established and now probably impossible to break.

Kinloch-Lochy should not really be described as 'one of the bloodiest' battles in Highland History. Compared with Harlaw or Culloden it was very minor indeed. Rcpaterson 04:50, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've always heard it referred to as Blar-na-leine (with proper accents and such), and I've grown up a Fraser. Thank you for expanding it; it looks much better! I believe calling it "one of the bloodiest" is fitting, because of the percentage of combatants killed. User:Canaen

It definately is Blar na Leine (well certainly Kilsyth isnt)! I can sing a Gaelic song from the Battle of Auldearn (Blar AlltEireann), fought before Kilsyth, which specifically states: Clann Domhnall a' chruadail, thug a' bhuaidh am Blar Leine (check the last bit), proving the notion of Blar na Leine was around before the Battle of Kilsyth. Revision needed.

Stalemate?[edit]

Whats the source for the result of the battle being a stalemate? In his dissertation Mackenzie Ross Crawford says it was a decisive Clanranald victory. Creuzbourg (talk) 17:29, 20 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
