What does "link spam" mean for a reason to remove an external link to www.bayankhongor.com. Bayankhongor.com is currently a dedicated website to Bayankhongor aimag, written by foreigners that live in Bayankhongor, including information about attractions, hotels, and restaurants. There are pictures, accurate prices, and directions to places of interest. It may be advisable to refresh the cache since the site was only recently started. It means that an encyclopedia is not the right place to promote tourist guide web sites. --Latebird (talk) 23:22, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, the content of this encyclopedia, Wikipedia, is NOT the correct place to promote tourist information. However, there is considerable precedence of linking to tourist guide web sites such as Wikitravel in the external link section of country websites. For example, China, India. I think an external link to a tourist guide web site is within the policy of Wikipedia. Fargarlicknots (talk) 02:58, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia also links to IMDB, but not to every individual movie fans site. You might also want to consider WP:COI. --Latebird (talk) 09:23, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
