BeercanBeercan (disambiguation) – Move so that this title can be redirected to its primary topic, beverage can. The other two meanings on this page are merely a nickname for a camera derived from its resemblence to a beverage can, and a song titled so as to evoke a beverage can. I note that Beer can redirects here, and since neither of the other two uses contains a space, I also propose that Beer can should redirect to beverage can even if Beercan is not moved. bd2412 T 17:43, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support as WP:PRIMARYTOPIC: 57123 vs. 6241 others (and bearing in mind that the claim that the camera is known as beercan is somewhat tenuous).

No doubt "beverage can" is the most notable topic of the three. But how many of the "beverage can" hits were reached by typing "beercan"? That is the question here. —  AjaxSmack  05:09, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
How many people could possibly be typing "Beercan" while looking for the camera lens or the song. Granted, probably more for the song, but neither seems to be a very popular topic of research. bd2412 T 05:06, 17 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know. My question wasn't rhetorical. "Beverage can" is certainly a more important topic but I personally can't imagine many people typing "beercan" (without a space) to get to that article.  AjaxSmack  00:58, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Since we do not have an article with this name, it makes most sense for the page to be a disambiguation page.John Pack Lambert (talk) 00:22, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose move of disambiguation page, but support change of target of beer can from beercan to beverage can. The unspaced version is not mentioned on beverage can, but beverage can does appear to be the primary topic for the spaced version. -- JHunterJ (talk) 13:44, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • That's fair. Most incoming links go through the beer can redirect, and those are never intended for the other "beercan" meanings. bd2412 T 16:58, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've made the change to the redirect. -- JHunterJ (talk) 13:55, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
