Oasis[edit]

Who gives a shit about what oasis think of this song? why are they mentioned within twice at the start of this article.

On the documentary Live Forever Damon says it is about drugs.

"Beadlebum"?[edit]

"Its more likely to be a reference to the comedy prank show Beadlebum from which the song uses distorted sound clips and a line in the chorus mimics the catchphrase."

I can't find anything to confirm if there's any truth to the above. As far as I can tell there was never a show called Beadlebum, although Beadlebum is the nickname of Jeremy Beadle, who hosted prank shows like Beadle's About and Game for a Laugh. 217.34.39.123 14:13, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More musical influences?[edit]

The general atmosphere and instrumentation of the song is similar to some of David Bowie's work, e.g. Starman from the Ziggy Stardust album. (Blur wasn't exactly the first or last London band to sound like David Bowie.) At some point we hear I Can See Clearly Now. The repeating coda section brings faint memories of other songs with the same device, e.g. the RCHP's Sir Psycho Sexy. Rp 16:27, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
