Real Time?[edit]

Shouldn't it be noted that this film, even thought it has cuts, is in real time?

I thought it was already mentioned... that should definitely be added. --Madchester 02:13, 20 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Celine's Age[edit]

Celine describes a disturbing dream within a dream. She dreams that she is 23 again but dreaming that she is 32. The 23-year-old in the dream "wakes up" and is pleased that she is only 23. Unfortunately, Celine really wakes up to discover that is actually 32.

Celine & Jesse vs. Julie Delpy & Ethan Hawke[edit]

The article should refer to the movie characters by the characters' names rather than the names of the actors.

Edits to plot section[edit]

I've tried to make it sound less like a review, but I left the tag in so people can comment. Any feedback is welcome. Thanks, DJRafe 05:29, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

comment on edit[edit]

Thanks DJRafe, this reads like a plot summary now, not a review - just what it says it is. I think this is fine. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Deoxyribonucleic acid trip (talkcontribs) 12:44, August 23, 2007 (UTC).

Removed review tag[edit]

Thanks for the feedback. The 'review' tag is gone. DJRafe 01:52, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speculative statement[edit]

The paragraph outlining the plot contained the sentences "Three journalists are present at the bookstore, interviewing Jesse: a romantic who is convinced the book's main characters meet again, a cynic who is convinced that they don't, and a third one who, despite wanting them to meet again, remains doubtful they actually do. They represent the three possible ways a viewer might guess what the aftermath of Before Sunrise might be, according to his or her own personality." I've deleted the second sentence, as it seems to be original research - while it makes sense and is highly plausible, without some evidence from Linklater & Krizan (or someone close to them) it sounds like it's just the opinion of the article's writer ~dom Kaos~ (talk) 16:10, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The ending isn't meant to be ambiguous about whether Jesse missed his plane.[edit]

Note this article--

http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/article/will_there_be_a_before_sunset_sequel

If there had been a sequel, according to Linklater, it would have taken place about two weeks after the ending of Before Sunset. Presumably after a rather lengthy lovemaking session. Therefore, Jesse stayed. They couldn't do a film with the two of them walking and talking in realtime (which is the only way you do one of these films), if Jesse had gotten back on a plane for home. He missed his plane. What happened as a result of that is another matter. But really, the ending itself is all you need to see in order to know this. He's not going anywhere--at least not yet. I see your point. If the last sentence strikes some reader as speculation, I propose to remove it from the plot summary. As for the planned sequel, there's some mention of it in the production section ("Hawke had suggested the possibility of further films in the series"). We can use the interview you provided as a ref, but since they are still only ideas flowing around, per WP:CRYSTAL, there's no need to get into too much detail. When/If the third one comes out, it could be a very different story.--Artoasis (talk) 05:15, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I do think it would be worthwhile to put in a section about the planned sequel, since it does provide a little information about where they thought the story should go from there. Odds are there won't be another one anytime soon, or quite possibly ever. And anyway, what would they call it? "After Sunset"? "Around Dusk"? "Before Midnight"? Depressing. Kim Krizan?[edit]

In multiple articles online, not to mention her own Wikipedia page, it lists Kim Krizan as one of the writers for this film (though not for the second sequel Before Midnight). Is there any references that state that she isn't one of the main writers? Vember94 (talk) 10:58, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I've corrected the infobox according to official credits. Thanks for pointing it out. --Artoasis (talk) 02:23, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
