Lou Reed's grandson?[edit]

Is Zach Condon really Lou Reed's grandson? A quick web search doesn't turn up any confirmation. I suspect vandalism. Gmarsden 19:15, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Condon's birthdate[edit]

I just added the *age* template to the beginning of the article, but I don't know his exact birthday. If anyone does, please update the tag. Gmarsden 12:57, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hm...The NPR article linked (May 4, 2006) said he was 19; the AP article (26 June, 2006) says 20. Puddleglum 23:10, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

discography[edit]

the discography doesn't include the aforementioned LP that only has two songs on it. I don't know how to edit pages to include pictures

Fair use rationale for Image:Beirut pompeii.jpeg[edit]

Image:Beirut pompeii.jpeg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. Condon[edit]

Currently, searching for Zach Condon redirects to this article. However, I feel that the man and the band are seperate enough to warrant a seperate page just for Condon. He wrote much of it himself, but there is a whole group of people who work with him. I don't want to create a new page just yet, but does anyone else agree with me on this? Of course Beirut is not Zach Condon, it is band. But a page just about Beirut and another one just about Condon, it will make two really small pages I think, maybe in a few years if Zach Condon released other things alone or if Beirut continue without him, but I think now it is not necessary ... First name use[edit]

In the main section the name "Zach" is used instead of "Condon" when referring to Zach Condon. Shouldn't the last name be used instead of the first? MrHen. (talk) 16:35, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reference for wrist injury[edit]

I've replaced the reference that pointed towards BBC Music Profiles with a fact tag for the reason that BBC Music Profiles is a mirror of wikipedia:

I'm unfamiliar with Brazilian TV, but apparently there was a show based on a book that used Elephant Gun, which made Beirut popular in Brazil supposedly? Does anyone know the title of the show, or have a reason why Beirut can now be considered popular in Brazil? I'd ask the nice fellow who added these points directly, but alas he has no account. New album, video & Genre listing[edit]

I doubt there are enough credible sources for the rumored new album or film, but I thought I'd compile the current ones here—

“Indeed, the band is recording. Basically, Zach [Condon] is going back and forth between doing recording sessions in a studio with the whole band, then taking the materials back home and editing them as well as working on vocals. He wants to take the rest of the year to make sure it’s all up to snuff, so there will definitely be a Beirut record next year, but not sure when yet!”

—Again, I don't know just how credible any of these are, but hey.

Also, I don't think that the genre list touches on every aspect of the band's music. I want to add something along the lines of mariachi (March of the Zapotec) and chanson (The Flying Club Cup), since Balkan music doesn't cover all of that, but I can't find any sources. Canceled tours[edit]
