Why was so much removed?[edit]

I looked back through the history of this page, and this article used to be much longer -- with information about rides, history, even accidents that happened. It was referenced (mainly though web links) and at the very least gave interested parties something to work with. Was there any reason all of that got removed, besides that the park is currently being dismantled? Curtangel 16:22, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to add any encyclopedic material from older revisions back into the article. Pagrashtak 22:19, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Figured as much, I just didn't want to put it all back and then it be removed again.Curtangel 23:02, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Who keeps deleting everything? I've continually updated this article with the story of why Bell's closed, what it contained, and it's future, but someone feels the urge to delete it all. This is why Wikipedia just doesn't work.

I put a [citation needed] on the talk about backroom dealing. Not to say that it isn't true, but it doesn't cite any sources. It seems like it came out of nowhere, and that they didn't publicly lay the groundwork for Bell's eviction. But given that Bells was only paying a tiny $135k/year for such a large piece of land, I can see why someone would be so quick to pull the plug. That's nothing in real-estate terms. But Bells was a win for Tulsa, which has such a lack of entertainment options to begin with. This is a net loss to the area. --Anonymous 68.97.210.29 06:27, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

^Yeah, I need to get that citation up, I found that info in some KOTV reports, as well as on other Tulsa news programs. Sadly, much of that information has been destroyed, but there's enough to prove the point. Oh yeah, only $135,000? That may not sound like much, but that's more than what the water park and ballpark pay every year. Besides, if they had gotten that new roller coater and all those other new rides in, their payments would have doubled. Anyway, yeah, I'll get that citation up. - Supersteve

Why WAS so much removed?[edit]

This article looked like a pretty good amusement park article, complete with citations. There are lots of amusement park articles about defunct amusement parks, so the fact that this park lost its lease and its future is uncertain in no reason to delete the entire article. Several people above mentioned that information from previous versions can be reinstated, but I don't want to do that if someone is determined to kill the article. Can some tell me why this info was removed? Thanks --Tinned Elk 22:59, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Discrepancies in sequence of events[edit]

The article indicates that Bell's park was closed in 1996 and that the rides were removed and put in a warehouse in 1997. However, it also gives dates of 1997 and 1998 for the mechanical failure of the Wildcat ride, killing a passenger. It is unclear to this viewer whether there were one or two fatal accidents and when Bell's was actually removed from service. Can someone clarify this? Jerry Murphy was not a competitor, he occupied a different niche and had a working cooperation with the park. Jerry Murphy owned Murphy Brothers, which was a traveling carnival. Jerry Murphy made his money with traveling around the country and placing his equipment at various local fairs throughout the country. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 155.147.84.58 (talk) 19:13, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Article needs section on rides[edit]

Even though technically, everything is historical in the article, not everything should be in the history section. There should be a section that details the rides and their descriptions. Okheric (talk) 18:53, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Article reclassified[edit]

The amount of information now included in this article about a defunct park seems to merit upgrading beyond stub category. I have reclassified it as Start. Bruin2 (talk) 17:07, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
