The nature of his Senate term[edit]

Hopefully I have correctly interpreted that his term was for two years because JFK had not resigned to run for Presidency and so no election for his old Senate seat was held in 1960 - and the convention is to hold over until the next Congress elections are held - the elected person serving out the original term. Ted Kennedy was re-elected for an eighth(!) time (after 2 years plus 7 full terms) in the most recent elections. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.188.188.63 (talkcontribs) on 19:17, 17 November 2006

Yes and moreover, wouldn't he have served until January 1963 when the new congress was sworn in?Tom Cod (talk) 23:16, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Real life[edit]

What did he do when we wasn't mayor or senator ? -- Beardo (talk) 23:27, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As I recall, he was involved in the commercial fishing industry, owning a fish packing plant, among other things. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.28.241.5 (talk) 20:45, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
