Benjamin GilmanBen GilmanWP:COMMONNAME and WP:SELFIDENTITY: Gilman far more commonly went by "Ben" instead of "Benjamin", as this obituary from his local newspaper uses "Ben" in the headline and includes a photo that appears to use "Ben Gilman for Congress". Similarly, his 1996 House campaign had "Ben Gilman for Congress" buttons.

Gilman's (archived) US House bio has "Benjamin A. Gilman" in the header but uses "Ben Gilman" three times in the body, both quoting People magazine from 1978 and in an original context for instance: "Ben Gilman served as an Assistant Attorney General in the N.Y.S. Law Dept. and as Counsel to the State Assembly's Committee on Local Finance."

Also, "Ben Gilman" + Congress gets over 30k google results, compared to around 9.5k for "Benjamin Gilman" + Congress. Arbor to SJ (talk) 07:42, 31 December 2017 (UTC)--Relisting.  sami  talk 23:36, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
