Both the Systematic and Determinative manuals are still being produced and updated. Either they should both be covered here, or they should have separate articles. Desperate scientific need

This description desperately needs to make reference to the entirely transforming impact that molecular phylogeny, and in particular the 16S rRNA studies originating with Woese and collaborators, has had on systematic bacteriology -- where Bergey's has long been king over the realm.
