Rigging Best Boy

The entry states that in a film crew there are only two types of best boy. What about Rigging Best Boy(s), as, for instance, in Alien Vs Predator? Or is this not strictly speaking part of the film crew? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sapienza (talk • contribs) 22:14, 20 June 2015 (UTC)

The "Best Boy Grip" is a relatively recent position designation; in decades past, only the gaffer had a "best boy" (sorry, I don't have a citation). I think the "rigging best boy" is a relatively rare position... I do look for these things in movie credits (for no particular reason, just interested) and I think I have only seen reference to a Rigging Best Boy two or three times, maybe one of them in Alien vs Predator as you said. It used to be you only saw "Best Boy" with no other designation, and that was assumed to be the gaffer's assistant. 136.237.61.10 (talk) 14:50, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
