Fair use rationale for Image:Bharathidasan.jpg[edit]

Image:Bharathidasan.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Bibliography[edit]

I would like to see the list of all the works so that I will be able to choose what to read. While this is there for most of the famous authors, it's disappointing I can't find it anywhere. Can someone add these? 49.204.112.33 (talk) 20:17, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Poet's original name, name order, pen name[edit]

Hello @DaxServer:, Thank you very much for all of your contributions to WP

Personal name and name order regd: this revert by you Personal names and their name sequence or order ( given name followed by family name and or patronymic) is different in various regions & cultures. Some regions (eg: Hindu Tamil names) simply use initials in the place patronymic (father's given name) and the initials is/ are listed first, followed by the son's/ daughter's given name.

So it is better to be detailed & clear when writing to be understood in 2 very different naming systems ( Western naming system & Hindu Tamil names).

One system used for naming, using only given names (without using family name) is as below: for Tamil Hindu son's name: K. Subburathinam:(initial K for father's given name Kanagasabai and Subburathinam is the son's given name). The same name using Patronymic last name system is Subburathinam Kanagasabai meaning Subburathinam son of Kanagasabai (Subburathinam (son's given name) followed by Kanagasabai (father's given name)).

For Tamil Hindu daughters, the naming system is the same, eg: Meena Suresh: Meena (daughter's given name) followed by Suresh (father's given name), but after marriage the wife may or may not take her husband's given name as her last name instead of her father's. eg: after marriage, Meena Subburathinam: meaning Meena wife of Subburathinam: Meena (wife's given name) followed by Subburathinam (husband's given name).

Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Biography#First mention is the guideline here. All the articles generally start with the subjects' full names despite whatever they're regarded to in any of their cultures — DaxServer (t · m · c) 18:00, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello DaxServer, Thanks for taking your time to write a reply. Relevant here: Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Biography#Changed_names and Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Biography#Positions,_offices,_and_occupational_titles. Bharathidasan is mainly known by this name and not by his birth name K. Subburathinam. (Person's given name: Subburathinam, father's given name: Kanagasabai. By patronymic initials naming system person's full name: K. Subburathinam; by patronymic suffix system: Subburathinam Kanagasabai.) He is an author and he published works using the name Bharathidasan. The first sentence mentions both names in applicable ways. Hope this helps. I don't know anymore about the subject. I'll leave this for someone else — DaxServer (t · m · c) 09:38, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

External links: writer's works at open access repository Project Madurai[edit]

Hello @DaxServer:, This article is about a writer. At the external links section, adding the link for the writer's works at the open access repository Project Madurai is very relevant. Not sure why it was removed by you. Hope this good faith edit that includes the link will improve the article. Thanks, by contributor 2know4power. 2know4power (talk) 23:14, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
