Major revamping/construction[edit]

Over the next several days I am editing the article in a similar style of Big Brother 2009 (UK) which is a GA article in hopes of making this article a GA article while keeping the specific US style. This will include an expanded lead in, some sections being merged together, reducing non important information and adding sources. If anyone would like to help please feel free to do so. It would be nice to make this article a GA article. If there are any problems please discuss them here instead of starting an edit war. ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 18:18, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Adding back the ratings table[edit]

I know that a consensus was reached to convert the ratings table to prose and because the previous ratings tables wasn't cited. I was thinking about adding back the table after the reviewer for Big Brother 2009 (UK) suggested they do the same. Now since the USA airs only a fraction of the episodes other versions around the world I think this could work for the USA articles. In my sandbox I have a table-in-progress for my own personal use which if a new consensus is reached can be used in the main article. I am putting all key data there for easy reference to expand the ratings section but I would like to include it. The idea for the Ratings section would have prose above the table summarizing the ratings section with the table showing the all the ratings. This kind of table is used in other articles and would be good here. The great thing about this table is it has sources! ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 18:18, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Some suggestions from KingOfTheMedia[edit]

User:Alucard 16 asked me to make some comments, so here goes:

  • "For the first three weeks, Big Brother divided the HouseGuests into four cliques; Athletes, Populars, Brains and the Off-beats" - I don't believe that the four clique names should be coloured here as it is possibly against WP:COLOR and WP:MOS. I suggest introducing a key like this one.

  • Don't bold the "third week" etc. This is against WP:MOSBOLD.
  • Working on that; I am currently in the process expanding the Summary section with brief summaries of the competitions. As I go along and correct each week I have been removing the bold weeks trying to make it look like Big Brother 2009 (UK). ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 19:22, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Only use the first/last/author parameters of the cite news/web reference templates for names. "CBS (2009-07-10). "'Big Brother 11' Tops Last Summer's Premiere in Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34". Press release. Retrieved 2010-05-29.", for example, should have CBS as the publisher.
  • Some of the formatting of the references needs to be brushed up.
