Specific comments

  • I believe that quotations, even in the lead, always need direct citations. (Last sentence of the lead).

  • Early tour, is it really necessary for the sentence in the fifth paragraph to have six citations?
Yeah, because it is pointing out which MCC players then played in the five Tests, so you need a ref for the players list for each of the six matches. YellowMonkey (click here to vote for world cycling's #1 model!) 00:46, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • The picture needs a source to show why it's pre-1955 (You'll need this for FAC).
The uploader contacted the National Library and they pulled it out of the archive. It wasn't on a electornic database with ID number though, however, there are books with portraits dated 1951-52 with even less hair so this photo was before then, and probably 46-49 I would guess. He definitely did not have hair replacement therapy. YellowMonkey (click here to vote for world cycling's #1 model!) 00:46, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Third Test section, last paragraph, you say "only match before the Fourth Test" but who was it against?
Fixed. YellowMonkey (click here to vote for world cycling's #1 model!) 00:46, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • For FAC, you're going to need to watch the jargon, the article, even with wikilinking, is full of phrasing that makes not a lot of sense to a non-cricket fan. It's not a big concern at GA, since the wikilinking helps some, but it's probably a bit jargon heavy for FA.
Yes, yes, YellowMonkey (click here to vote for world cycling's #1 model!) 00:46, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've put the article on hold for seven days to allow folks to address the issues I've brought up. Feel free to contact me on my talk page, or here with any concerns, and let me know one of those places when the issues have been addressed. If I may suggest that you strike out, check mark, or otherwise mark the items I've detailed, that will make it possible for me to see what's been addressed, and you can keep track of what's been done and what still needs to be worked on. Not being an image maven, I'll take your word for that. Don't take my word that it'd pass at FA though, I am ignorant on image policy. Otherwise, looks good. Passing the article now. Ealdgyth - Talk 00:58, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
