Personnel[edit]

According to the booklet of the "Lady In Autumn" CD box set on Verve, the drummer for the 1952 session was James Charles Heard. This article lists Alvin Stoller. Does anyone know where the confusion comes from, and which source is right? 213.119.26.53 (talk) 03:25, 28 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

April ? 1952[edit]

This April 1 1952 date we are using for this LP and the two previous is wrong, most other sites, like JazzDisco.org, just have it as April 1952 Note the following comment in the Billie Holiday specialist site BillieHolidaySongs.com: http://www.billieholidaysongs.com/recording-sessions/1952-sessions/

"Session #67 Los Angeles, after 21/April/1952 Billie Holiday & Her Orchestra (Clef)

Charlie Shavers (tp) Flip Phillips (ts) Oscar Peterson (p) Barney Kessel(g) Ray Brown (b) Alvin Stoller (d) Billie Holiday (v)

We don’t know the exact date of this session. However, we know Norman Granz signed with Billie after his return from Europe in April 21st, 1952."

I suggest this actually be stated in the article, and the precise date left unspecified beyond April, rather than giving a fake date we know is wrong.

...despite the existing Allmusic rating, I cannot find an Allmusic pg for this album, the closest I can find is for a 1965 Japanese(?) reissue http://www.allmusic.com/album/billie-holiday-clef-mw0000901734
