Official name[edit]

Not sure about it but I think that the official romanization of Birdy's name is Chiffon. It isn't used at all though in all fansubs I could find on the internet. Perhaps we should wait for the FUNinmation official english translation to be certain. --85.69.103.117 (talk) 18:08, 26 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The character's full romanized name is Birdy Cephon Altera - used in the manga and spoken in the show. The spelling of "Cephon Altera" is sometimes in dispute - "Ciphon Altira" for instance - with most preferring the former than the later in manga translations and fan subs. Definitely not "Chiffon" which has an entirely different pronunciation. MUnderwood 14:53, 25 February 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikieditor 3833 (talkcontribs)

Debut[edit]

Birdy the Mighty: Decode made it's debut on March 2nd 2011 on the FUNimation Channel. Not 2010. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.65.36.114 (talk) 08:21, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Out of Date[edit]

This page is out of date. Not sure about anything else, but its not 2009 anymore, and the Cipher OVA has been released. 75.79.58.222 (talk) 07:41, 9 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I will begin a cycle of updates to bring this article up to date. It hasn't seen any updates since 2012. MUnderwood 14:57, 25 February 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikieditor 3833 (talkcontribs)
My first update will be to delete statements that do not have proper citation. For instance, I think the dubious reference to Superman is tenuous at best and may be a fan's attempt to give the show more relevance to a popular film. I'll start with that, see if I get any comment, and continue work from there. MUnderwood 15:01, 25 February 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikieditor 3833 (talkcontribs)

Date Discrepancies[edit]

The dates given in the introduction and the section "Manga" do not match those in the info box. First of all the text seems to conflate the remake and its sequel. According to the info box, mangaupdates, MAL and other language wikis, there is the original with one volume running 1985-1988, the remake with 20 volumes (December) 2002-2008 and the sequel with 13 volumes 2008-2012. The text does not mention a remake and states the sequel ran 2003-2012 (intro) resp. 2002-2012 (under "Manga").

Also one volume spanning 25-48 months (1985-12-1 to 1988-1-1 vs. January to January) seems unlikely. Shounen Sunday Super was a monthly magazine until 2004 and Tankoubon usually cover around eight issues. As far as I understand the Japanese article there were seven issues in '85, a hiatus from July of that year to December '87 and another three issues until the series discontinuation after February '88.

Haven't checked how accurate other dates are.
