Plans Up in Air[edit]

The following text has been removed due to lack of verifiable evidence.

However plans are up in the air after the city's Nightingale Club hijacked the event. Many still believe that after the 2007 event made a healthy profit for the first time in the events history Everevent should have been allowed to carry on with the organisation. The nightingale is struggling to get the amount of sponsorship and support that Everevent had already found for the event. Even some of the gay bars are planning on boycotting this years event!

Assertion that Nightingale hijacked event is unverified, infact, a check of the minutes of Birmingham city Council Gay Pride Steering Group minutes will clarify that the decision relating to the adoption of a business plan for 2008 was made by a partnership of Gay Businesses, City Council and Community Groups.

"Many people" - unverified and unquantified.

"Nightingale struggling to get sponsorship" - again unsupported by evidence.

"Gay bars boycotting event" - again absolutely no evidence presented to support this claim.

Article expansion[edit]

This article's history shows older information from previous Pride events has been consistently removed and replaced with information on new Pride events, and this usually happens just before the annual event each year. This has clearly been done as if someone were updating a website and not understanding the purpose of Wikipedia. There is a wealth of information available on external news sites and reliable sources relating to this city's Pride event and so addiitonal information should be added to this entry to prevent it becoming a temporary noticeboard for event organisers but rather a in-depth history and information article on the event itself. 90.221.172.129 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 05:25, 28 May 2010 (UTC).[reply]

Sherelle Browne??[edit]

Someone keeps posting in the [[Hurst Street] article about Birmingham pride: "At the event, the Queen of Gays is elected for one year. The current Queen is Sherelle Browne"
I cannot find a source for this claim though, does anyone else know about this?

No longer free[edit]

I've removed the bits that claimed this is a free event as wristbands are now required. Spikymoss (talk) 09:59, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nice. It's no longer the UK's biggest free Pride event either, so that title needs to be removed if it hasn't already. Thanks Jenova20 (email) 10:12, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
