Merger proposal[edit]

I propose that Railway stations in Birmingham city centre be merged into Birmingham station group. Both articles cover the same stations, and the article title 'Birmingham station group' is more in line with similar articles such as Manchester station group, and reflects their grouping on the National Rail network. The entire contents of Railway stations in Birmingham city centre could be merged into Birmingham station group. For consistency with other wikipedia articles, the title of an article on these stations should be Birmingham station group - see Manchester station group, London station group, Liverpool station group, Bootle station group. As it stands, Birmingham is not consistent with other articles on stations in major UK city centres, and it has no reason to be inconsistent. 15:29, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
If the title is wrong, we WP:MOVE the page. We do not alter article titles by WP:CUTPASTE methods, that causes loss of page history. --Redrose64 (talk) 19:07, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Understood. In which case I'd suggest that Birmingham station group be deleted and Railway stations in Birmingham city centre moved there. -Sammich28 (talk) 22:16, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - they are essentially the same thing so why two articles are needed I don't know. I would combine the railway stations in Birmingham city centre in the Birmingham station group as this is the technically correct name for this group of stations and is consistent with Manchester station group, London station group naming convention etc. Stevo1000 (talk) 23:04, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
