Can't find that many specific articles for birth as a rite of passage specifically for 1992Vroney18 (talk) 02:32, 23 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The book itself will be a good source, as well as reviews in academic journals. You could also look on GoogleScholar to see who cites the book. Christacraven (talk) 00:59, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

While the article is incomplete the beginning is very good and solid. I made some word changes to fix some grammar issues, ing to ed sorts of changes. when you mention "exiting and entering of one stage of life..." I would use "transitioning between" as it seems easy to trip over the wording as it is, but it's not incorrect as it is. The second paragraph is good but I feel there are places where links to broader anthropology concepts or implications are possible although the flow of the paragraph is already quite good. I agree that the article is not finished but it has a strong foundation that is clear. I think the topics need to be expanded into some more detail in order to create a full article. I have a suggestion of possibly defining the culture that is being utilized. You briefly mention it is American society but could that possibly be more defined using Davis-Floyd's words? Also perhaps dividing the article into sections would make it easier for the reader to follow how complex the subject is. Also you mention the significance of rite of passages and how they define a culture but perhaps add in some information on the transformative process of birth. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bls1996 (talkcontribs) 23:29, 29 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I think this article could use snippets from the actual book in order to better establish the concepts and terminology presumably used by the author. Ontheroad1957 (talk) 22:41, 8 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
