Kind of sounds like a ad. RJFJR 17:07, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have cleaned up and modified the article today, and it is much more objective now, so this point has been taken care of. --Spaetz (talk) 15:35, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

1st pass at cleanup[edit]

I made a first pass at cleaning this up. I cut out some good-sized chunks that looked like hype or author's personal speculations. We may decide that some of this should be added back in. -- Writtenonsand 23:29, 19 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Comment on 1st pass at cleanup[edit]

Good job clearing up the first few areas, as they really were cut straight from the product website. Distilling the additional commentary section to two words seemed somewhat heavy handed, even if the author of that section was being speculative. At the least, the comparitive merits between a LiveCD, U3, and the BlackDog seemed like a valid point to raise. Additionally, the concept of a personal/symbiotic/parasitic server is thought provoking enough that something should have been left, though I am at a loss as to how to reword such an idea.

If you need any clarification[edit]

I'm a BlackDog developer. I have this hardware unit, have developed for the platform, and have met the team at OSBC. Perhaps I can provide some help cleaning up the article.

The information on K9, the next generation model, is pure speculation. The product roadmap keeps changing, so it's not clear what the new product will actually include. There have been about four separate prototypes, all with different features. I should be among the first few to receive the new unit, so I'll update this section when it arrives. Until then, it's no more or less accurate than the marketing materials produced by the manufacturer.

What do you suggest be done about the "fluff?" The first pass seems to have gotten rid of a lot of it. pestilence669 13:41, 7 July 2006 (PST)

Another cleanup attempt[edit]

I am working at removing some of the marketing stuff, and filling in the blanks about the hardware and software versions used. And correcting some of the inaccuracies found in the Corporate History. --Tbayne (talk) 13:01, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hardware/Software Facts verification[edit]

The facts about the K9 hardware can be verified by sending an Email to Info@inaura.com and/or by looking at the posts/pictures on my website: First K9 Spotted in the Wild.

The photos can be used to verify some of the hardware facts.

I possess a K9 (Version 2 of the blackdog hardware) and was one of winners of the BlackDog Development contest.

I've done development for the Blackdog and K9 platforms and I am working closely with Inaura to bring the third version (dubbed UMAK) to market.

Unfortunately such sources aren't acceptable according to our policy on such. We need reliable secondary sources - information which is only vaialble directly from people involved with the project cannot be included. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 18:21, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced information[edit]

Unfortunately, we cannot include any information in this article which cannot be referenced to reliable secondary sources. As such, material which no information exists for outside of those within the project should be removed for now, until such point as references are found or produced. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 18:21, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have added many more sources and links to verify facts and give credibility to items. I also have removed some (probably interesting) yet very speculative hints and suggestions about the company. --Spaetz (talk) 15:38, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Pocket Linux[edit]

Did this run Pocket Linux? Pocket Linux server showdown -- Trevj (talk) 13:39, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Moved from Talk:Pocket Linux#from User:Trevj talk page
It clearly says that it run "on Debian until 2008. The project switched to using Olmec Linux." Therefore it is not "Pocket Linux" Server; it is Pocket "Linux Server", i e a server in a pocket. And a nice one, too. That is a common problem with google searches (and English language: "permanent processor repair kit maintenance expert" : who is "permanent" here, you never know unless someone tells you). Fair enough. -- Trevj (talk) 10:31, 26 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
