Additions needed[edit]

I tried to add all the awards I could find. I can't find any sources online for 2014, so I am unsure if there were awards that year or not. Also, although I can find info about the first awards in 2006, I can not seem to find out who the first honorees were.

Thank you for your memo. There was not an award show in 2014. The first honorees in 2006 were DJ Jazzy Joyce and MC Lyte. Here are two sources that may help you update the page.

Proposed restructuring[edit]

To better reflect that BGR is not just an awards show, I'm going to suggest that the page be restructured into the following main sections for now:
Awards Shows (organized chronologically and will list honorees)
2018 Book (Black Girls Rock!: Owning Our Magic. Rocking Our Truth)
BGR!Fest (have found sources for 2020 and 2022 so far)
Notable Speakers (M. Obama, H. Clinton, etc.) SyLvRuUz (talk) 18:49, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sources to Edit Article[edit]

Hi User: Anne Delong: As requested, here is a list of article links that should support additions to the history section. I appreciate your time in reviewing these sources. I also wanted to point out that someone made an edit to the introduction listing the organization as a nonprofit. While BLACK GIRLS ROCK! includes the 501(c)3 Black Girls Rock! Inc., which falls under the umbrella of the business, which includes multiple enterprises and brands. Lastly, I want to tag User: SyLvRuUz here. Though they have not edited in a while, they expressed an interest in helping edit this page as well. I look forward to your feedback and as an FYI, I also have more links/sources that may be helpful in editing the rest of the article. I will post them sometime next week.
