Fair use rationale for Image:MarvelTeam-Up145.jpg[edit]

Image:MarvelTeam-Up145.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Mark Scarlotti's Early Life[edit]

It said that he used to work for Stark International, but which one? The one run by Obidiah Stane or the one run by Tony Stark? Rtkat3 (talk) 6:19, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Iron Man 2[edit]

Please note: Vanko is never called Whiplash in Iron Man 2. -- Tenebrae (talk) 04:48, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

However, all official merchandise produced and endorsed by Marvel Studios refers to the character as Whiplash, as does all tie-in material. Perhaps this is a point of contention that should not be resolved so arbitrarily. Evincar (talk) 02:01, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to start an RfC, I'm all for that. The fact is that we cannot write that the character's name is Whiplash in the movie when it simply is not true. The ancillary materials are not the movie.
As a side note, most descriptions of Vanko's character in the film describe him as being a cross between Whiplash and the Crimson Dynamo, so is it accurate to call him Whiplash?
Ancillary materials are not the work of the filmmakers. If he's called Whiplash in the video game, say that. But we must respect the filmmakers and we cannot claim the film says something that it does not. --Tenebrae (talk) 02:05, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
See Discussion here re: Abomination.--Tenebrae (talk) 02:07, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

2-ish¢

  1. The plot from the film should not be up prior to general release. Ideally, it shouldn't be there till next Monday.
  2. Considering the character does not share Blacklash's secret ID, it may be more appropriate for this section to be moved back to the Whiplash article - with the same restriction on the plot.
