Comments[edit]

Lead
  • "The album was largely recorded in secret between the Magic Shop and Human Worldwide Studios in New York City" - replace "largely" with "primarily"
  • "comprising saxophonist Donny McCaslin, pianist Jason Lindner, bassist Tim Lefebvre and drummer Mark Guiliana; guitarist Ben Monder joined the ensemble for the final sessions," - change to "comprising of saxophonist Donny McCaslin, pianist Jason Lindner, bassist Tim Lefebvre and drummer Mark Guiliana; guitarist Ben Monder joined the ensemble for the final sessions,"
  • "The album contains re-recorded versions of two songs, "Sue (Or in a Season of Crime)" and "'Tis a Pity She Was a Whore", both of which were originally released in 2014. It was preceded by the singles "Blackstar" and "Lazarus", both of which were supported by music videos." The start of the second sentence could be changed from "It was preceded" to "The album was preceded".
  • The reason it isn't is that the preceding and seceding sentences both start with "The album" so doing that would be extremely derivative. – zmbro (talk) 20:10, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Background
  • "The title track was recorded on 20 March, with "I Can't Give Everything Away" following a day later, and "Killing a Little Time" and a remake of "Someday" (now retitled "Blaze") on 23 March; further overdubs commenced the following day.[16]" this sentence could be split into two, like "The title track was recorded on 20 March, with "I Can't Give Everything Away" following a day later. "Killing a Little Time" and a remake of "Someday" (now retitled "Blaze") were recorded on 23 March; with further overdubs commencing the following day.[16]"
Music
  • " ' "Lazarus" is described by Pegg as "an intense, brooding threnody"." an inline citation should be included.
  • It was, in the next sentence. But I see what you mean so I added it there. – zmbro (talk) 12:58, 23 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Source check[edit]

Ref 22 - an archive url or ISSN should be added, if possible.

  • Q only publishes print magazines to my knowledge so there's little possibility of having a URL available. I have also never been asked for ISSNs for magazines like Q and I wouldn't know how to retrieve that anyways. – zmbro (talk) 20:54, 23 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ref 3 - I might need to verify this source's reliability before i pass this article, as this source does look like a Blog.

Image review[edit]

  • I did not find any issues with the images; pass.

Copyvio[edit]

I checked it via copyvio and it looks alright. Link 1 (http://www.anydecentmusic.com/review/7713/David-Bowie-Blackstar.aspx) does have a 46% match, but that could be the result of the website citing the same reviews mentioned in the article.

During a source review I did, I found out that this url is cited in the article. Realmaxxver (talk) 22:26, 23 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure what you're getting at. – zmbro (talk) 12:43, 24 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
