US-Canada border towns/crossings cat?[edit]

I just tweaked a bit over on Nighthawk, Washington and popped by here to see if there was a border crossings cat or a border towns cat; nope. Sound like a good idea? Feedback please.Skookum1 (talk) 14:42, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Icelandic community[edit]

I just happen to know this from being Scandinavian, but Blaine is the largest Icelandic community in the United States - not that it's a lot of people, maybe 150 - and they were focuxed in the fishery. Sorry don't have a cite but it's one of those census topics that makes me so unhappy seeing populations broken down by race, instead of actual ethnicity......Are the Native Americans Lummi, or Semiahmoo, or what? Speaking of which should there be an article on the Semiahmoo Resort or at least be Semiahmoo Spit?Skookum1 (talk) 14:53, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Borderite[edit]

I know this is probably an unnecessary step but just in case somebody disagrees... I'd like to propose removing the unsourced comments about the Blaine High School mascot. I'm specifically referring to this edit which has been readded to the article like ten times. If nobody disagrees I'll remove the offending text. ~a (usertalkcontribs) 14:39, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I fully support you on this. Not only is the comment unsourced it is using wikipedia as a soapbox. Even ignoring these points, the topic would belong in Blaine High School not Blaine, Washington. Blaineboy (talk) 15:10, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I must say, I disagree with you folks on this. Conversing with other administrators, I found that they believed the selection was appropriate. I believe you guys are taking this too far...just relax and let it be. ;-) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.17.158.201 (talk) 01:07, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What administrators have you conversed with? Regardless, why exactly is the selection appropriate? ~a (usertalkcontribs) 01:24, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I to agree with the above contributer and must say that you guys are getting too riled up with your editing. I don't see a problem with the articles as a neutral citizen of Blaine and a contributer of Wikipedia. I find it disrespectful that you guys are taking so much offense to the additions that made an otherwise bland and boring article into a more interesting one. I am wondering why you guys take so much offense to the articles?Onionmaster japan (talk) 01:18, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Shame on blaineboy and arachnad for ruining the quality of Wikipedia! you two should be ashamed of yourselves! Be proud of what you are soing singline888, your a true hero and wikipedia needs more contributers like you who go against the tyrannical and dictatorial regin of these two. Thank you and our school applaud you. I hope you know we'll be more than ready to pick up the war where you left off. As for blaineboy and arachnad, i hope you two are morbidly ashamed of your befouling of wiki! I hope you lose sleep over the horrendous things you two have done! long live the work of Swingline888! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Onionmaster japan (talkcontribs) 01:30, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a source? ~a (usertalkcontribs) 07:14, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Icelandic settlement[edit]

I added a bit to Point Roberts' demographics section about Icelandic settlers; this is a notable feature of Blaine's social history but I'm not sure where to put it in the history section, or ? If I'm not mistaken, it's the largest concentration of Icelandic-descent North Americans outside the Interlake area of Manitoba. Where to find a cite for that I don't know; maybe the curator at the local museum or at the Nordic Museum in Ballard (where I learned of this) may be able to provide a citation and more detail than in the link given here.Skookum1 (talk) 16:13, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
