'North' End[edit]

Currently, the article repeatedly references the 'north end' of the island. Problem is, the island is laid out almost perfectly along an east-west axis. There is no north 'end.' The Blanny home is on the east end of the island. Should it read he purchased the northern half of the island along its length? or the east/upriver end of the island? -LlywelynII (talk) 15:10, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, and I suspect the writer meant the eastern end of the island. The writer likely perceived the river in general as flowing from north to south, even though east to west would be more accurate even in the general context. At this location the river flows almost exactly east to west, and the island's "ends" are almost perfectly east and west of each other. Tupelo the typo fixer (talk) 16:48, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
