I tried references 3,4,5 and 6 and none of them would load or produce something that wasn't a 404. Reference 2 successfully linked to an article but it was just a random news release about a shipment of chips being 6-8 weeks delayed, nothing related to the reference description.

Title[edit]

Why is this article titled malware? It is a proof of concept of an exploit, not a malware. No party will be interested to install this particular program secretly on your computer, although they may use the idea to create a program that actually does something to generate them money. --84.178.109.58 00:46, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The definition on here for malware is "software designed to infiltrate or damage a computer system without the owner's informed consent", which I think sums this up pretty well (it does infiltrate the system). --Zootm 10:47, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

According to the author of the Blue Pill it is not malware but a technology that will make it possible to introduce malware to the system.

The technology is also not OS-specific and could be used on any OS.

"There are number of ways of how Blue Pill could be exploited to create the actual malware (Blue Pill itself is just a "hijacking technology", not a malware)"

I have implemented a working prototype for Vista x64, but I see no reasons why it should not be possible to port it to other operating systems, like Linux or BSD which can be run on x64 platform."

effectiveness[edit]

The "Red Pill" URL reference leads to an explanation of the Red/Blue pill concept as in the movie The Matrix, but not a similar software package as implied by the text. Tim-mnm (talk) 18:07, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
