who/whom[edit]

Somebody keeps changing "whom" (in "whom he had married") to "who," claiming that "whom" would only be used in a prepositional phrase. Not so. "Whom" is the objective case (corresponding to "him," "her" or "them"). It is true that "who" tends to be used colloquially except after a preposition (I myself would use it in ordinary speech), but, strictly speaking, "whom" is correct here.
