Naming[edit]

I have moved the article back to the common title of the regiment, as per Wikipedia policy. Everyone calls the regiment the "Blues and Royals", so that's what the article should be called. -- Necrothesp 15:59, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Royal Household[edit]

I removed the Category:Positions within the British Royal Household because the regiment is not part of the Royal Household. The rest of the category is about offices in the household, now largely ones with a function (or ceremonial fucntion), but formerly including many sinecures. The regiment is not part of the royal household, though it incorporates a household regiment, whose notional fucntion was formerly to guard the royal household. Before I remove the category again, I would like to hear an explanation of why others think the category is appropriate. Peterkingiron (talk) 19:01, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • "This category is meant for both individual appointments and collective bodies, such as guard corps, that are part of the civilian, military or ecclesiastical household of the British monarchy, including those specific to either England or Scotland, both professional and occasional." Both the Blues and Royals and the Life Guards are listed there, along with the Horse Grenadier Guards and the Royal Horse Guards. Winchelsea 19:49, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
