Captain's name[edit]

The captain of the submarine is "田上 明次", and it is incorrect to read his name as "Tagami Meiji". His name is "Tagami Akiji". Many books in English make this mistake, probably because they are not familiar with Kanji.

This is the English version of the official gazette regarding the cancellation of the post-war purge of ex-military officers, and his name is on page 26. The Japanese version is here. Sugarman (talk) 10:44, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
